About Yas Marina Circuit

Yas Marina Circuit opened in October 2009 on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, designed by Hermann Tilke as a permanent Formula 1 venue on the waterfront beside the marina. A lap runs 5.281 km through 16 turns, and the grandstands hold around 60,000 spectators.

The layout was reworked in 2021 to make overtaking easier: the chicane at Turns 5 and 6 was bypassed and a banked corner replaced the old sequence through Turns 11 to 14. The lap record stands at 1:25.637, set by Kevin Magnussen in 2024.

The circuit’s headline event is the Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, traditionally the closing round of the season; the 2026 edition runs from 4 to 6 December over 58 laps.

Around it the calendar carries a broad motorsport programme — championship rounds, drift and street-challenge series and the circuit’s own race nights — alongside driving experiences on the track, fitness and community sessions, and venue hire across the site’s conference halls and rooftop terraces.
